Clinical Psychologist

Dr Ceyla Karamanci

HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from UCL. PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Koç University and Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Washington University in St Louis.

Hello! I'm Ceyla, a Clinical Psychologist based in London, offering online therapy for adults, as well as workshops and talks for schools, parent groups, and organisations.

I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from UCL, and over 15 years of experience across research, clinical practice, and academia.

Before training in the UK, I completed my PhD in Cognitive Psychology at Koç University in Istanbul and my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work at Washington University in St Louis, where I also completed my BA in Psychology. During these years in Turkey and the United States, I worked therapeutically with children, adolescents, adults, and families, including in schools, hospitals, clinics, and community organisations. I also worked as an embedded school therapist, conducted developmental assessments, collaborated with educational consultancies, and contributed to academic research on childhood OCD and ADHD. Alongside clinical work, I was involved in teaching, academic and research writing, and workshops - experiences that continue to shape how I think and work, and have given me a broad and internationally informed perspective.

Alongside my core clinical psychology training, I have undertaken additional training in many other areas including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), approaches I draw on regularly in my work with clients. Through my UCL doctoral training, NHS placements, and wider experience across mental health services, I have developed a thoughtful and integrative approach to therapy.

Currently, I work with adults who may feel stuck, be navigating a period of change, or want some space to reflect on themselves and their future with greater clarity. My style is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative, and I aim to offer a grounded space to pause, gain perspective, and consider meaningful next steps. I am particularly interested in helping people understand themselves more fully and make changes that feel aligned with their values and the kind of life they want to lead.

I work in both English and Turkish, and welcome enquiries in either language.
